All in One | Christmas and New Years Food Adventures

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

Ok. I know it's been a while, (hangs head in shame). BUT, I have a good reason. I've been busy moving house, coping with a change of responsibility at work, preparing for Christmas and New Years, and spending time with the boy, family and friends before starting work again for 2012.

And just to assure you that I haven't dropped off the face of the earth, here is a quick update on the things that I've been up to during the silly season.

One of the many Christmas parties of 2011, hot pot (steam boat) at a friends house. 20 people + 3 pots of BOILING hot broth + mountains of food = a good time!

The boy took me on a birthday day trip to the blue mountains. A must visit is The Mall strip in Leura. I love the little boutiques that line both sides of the street. We had lunch at the Wayzgoose Cafe in Leura. It's a small cafe with DELICIOUS food! It was very busy but luckily a family was just leaving as we walked in, so I quickly snatched up the booth. Service was very slow, due to how busy it was, but the wait for both menus and eventually food was worth it. I ended up ordering a Chicken and Vegetable Pie and the boy ordered a Club Sandwich. Both were served with a salad, which I was very grateful for as I had eaten WAY TOO MUCH the
night before during our Family Christmas Dinner, and needed to kick start my healthy eating.

The new kitchen in the new house has inspired me to cook more often...

...a batch of scones...

...a triple cheese bake (inspired by Nigella's Triple Cheese Strata)...

... and Turkey and Vegetable Soup (using Christmas leftovers.)

My wonderful sister got me a KitchenAid Icecream Bowl attachment! So will be posting some icecream recipes REALLY SOON!
